Here is a little peak on material I’m using for my traditional drawings. I’m really found at mixing a lot of different mediums on smooth paper. PaintON Multi-Techniques A3 is made for acrylics, oil, and ink but it’s also excellent for watercolor which I use quite often in my drawings.
I also use Faber-Castell colorpencil, Winsor and Newton Cotman watercolor (I like watercolor in tubes, the paint is more thick and easy to build darker shades faster in my opinion), Winsor and Newton designers gouache (I use it sometimes if the gelpen just make some of the white highlights to harsh), Touch markers, promarkers and white gelpen.
I hope this inspire some of you to try out other type of materials. I find it hard myself to find something I like to work with. You can also train yourself to be able to handle a certain medium but if you don’t like a particular medium because it doesn’t help you to bring out the idea you have for the drawing. It’s no worth in continue and it’s better to try something else. Experiment is something that helps a lot!!!
I hope you find this helpful in someway and keep on drawing folks!
